Year of the Pig 2007Predictions for the Year of the Pig 2007 by Edgar (Lok Tin) Yung Dec 2006 2007 in GeneralIn the Chinese almanac, 2007 is the Year of the Pig. The Year of the Pig starts at 2:18pm on the 4th February 2007 and ends at 8:00pm on the 4th February, 2008. Those born prior to 2:18pm on the 4th February, 2007, are not born in the Year of the Pig. Individuals born prior to that time would be considered to have been born in the Year of the Dog. Each year in the Chinese almanac is made up of two characters; the Heavenly Stem and the Earthly Branch. When we say that it is the Year of the Pig, we are referring only to the Earthly Branch but, when we need to forecast what is in store for any given year, the Heavenly Stem must also be included in the equation. The Heavenly Stem for 2007 is Yin Fire (Ding). Therefore, 2007 is rightly the Year of the Yin Fire Pig. Yin means quiet and slow. So, in 2007, we can interpret this as meaning that we should not take on large risks or seek too much adventure. Rather, the wise course of action would be to "act" like a Pig: that is, being an intelligent creature, the pig has become a symbol of deposit or saving. Think of a Piggybank- it is literally a tool for saving. Likewise, 2007 is a year for saving. In terms of the Five Elements, the Earth Branch of the Pig (2007) is a Water element with some Wood in it. So, the Heavenly Stem on top is Yin fire while the Earthly Branch beneath it is Water. In Five Elements theory, Water conquers Fire. Generally speaking, in 2007 the public worldwide will tend to oppose top level executive or government decisions. This will also apply to big corporations who will find workders opposing management decisions that focus more on rapid business growth and increased profits at the expense of the people. Furthermore, many nations in the world are likely to change government. The chance of opposition parties seizing power is high. In terms of weather, the second half of 2007 will be a cooler year compared with 2006. There will be more rainfall in 2007 and drought condition will ease Some areas will even experience heavy flooding. The average temperature will be lower. This is in contrast to 2006 where the Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch were both Fire (Yang = Fire/Active) causing high tempretures and frequent bush fires. In 2006 and 2007 the element for the combined characters of the Heavenly Stem and the Earthly Branch is Earth. This kind of Earth has a special name known as "Roof-top Earth". "Roof-top Earth" is linked to property and land. This indicates that the property market will slow down, especially in the second half of 2007, starting from August through to the end of January in 2008. There is also a high liklihood of an increasing number of earthquakes throughout the world, especially towards the end of 2007 and into January 2008. In 2007, the situation is Europe willl still be very much characterised by unrest. For those who conduct business with European countries, extra care must be taken. In 2007 the Sickness Star flies to the middle of the world indicating that a pandemic related to the abdominal region and respiratory system might strike. The Earthly Branch can also represent directions. There are two sectors that must not be dug or renovated in 2007. These two areas are the West (In between 248 and 293 degrees) and the North-West (293 to 338 degrees). In 2007, the yearly bad Chi (energy) will reside in these sectors, so these sectors should be kept quiet and calm inside a house otherwise serious difficulties will be experienced by the father and youngest daughter of the family. IndividuallyThe Heavenly Stem of 2007 is Yin Fire. The Earthly Branch underneath is Water. Water conquers Fire, but Water is also weakened by Fire. The element of Fire represents the eyes, hearts and blood circulation system. Water is related to the excretion system including the kidneys, urethra, prostate gland for male, bladders and so on. In these two aspects, extra care must be taken. Especially for those who were born on the Year of the Snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989) and Year of the Pig (1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995). Regular medical check-ups in 2007 will definitely save many troubles and future regrets. Other than the above health concerns, Pigs in 2007 will have very busy schedules and will be surrounded by negative gossip and possible defamation. Famous Pigs include Hillary Clinton and Elton John who were both born in 1947. 2007 will be a busy and significant year for them. For those born in the Year of the Snake, a clash with the Earthly Branch means momentous changes in 2007. A career change, moving house or travel are just some of the possibilities. If planning any trips, avoid travelling North-West from where you live. You should also avoid investing in high risk markets. Former Brithish Prime Minister Tony Blair was born in 1953 and actress Sarah Jessica Parker was born in 1965. In 2007, Snakes need to be particularly aware of contract terms if signing any documents. Health permitting, Pigs and Snakes should be encouraged to donate blood as it is one of the best ways to reduce bad luck and attract good luck in 2007. If you were born in the Year of the Tiiger (1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998), ou should beware of potential lawsuits if you are in partnership with others particularly in February and May. In 2007, it is prudent to be conservative rather than aggressive. Eventually any problems that arise will be solved, but they will cost you substantial time and money. Monkeys (1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992) will be easily implicated by others or partners in some kind of wrong doing. They will break many rules, like traffic laws, for example, and find themselves on the receiving end of financial penalties. It should be remembered that Chinese Astrology examines not only the year of birth but also the month, day and hour. It is difficult to exactly predict how each year will affect each person individually. However, based on this years' Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch, some animals are more vulnerable to the influence of the Year of the Pig than others. The animals most likely to be affected in 2007 are the Pig, Snake, Tiger and Monkey. for the rest of the animals, the following is a rough guide only. For a more in-depth reading, please seek help from a professional Chinese Astrology consultant. In 2007, the Rabbit (1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987) will still be recovering from events that occured in 2005, but can expect positive events in their love life. They will have an opportunity to work with new colleagues or business partners but should not let personal emotions become involved in business decisions. For Dragons (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000), the impacts of 2006 are gradually fading away. For Horses (1930,1942,1954,1966, 1978,1990) and Rats (1936,1948,1960,1972,1984), relationships will be complicated and a third party may become involved. Goats (1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991) will find that little profit will be made from entering into partnership arrangements. Working Roosters (1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1992, 2004), will learn something new in relation to their work or personal interests. For students, study results will be good. Female Dogs (1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994) of child-bearing age will find it easy to fall pregnant. For men, the bowels and skin need some care so it is recommeded that they eat lots of healthy, vegetable filled meals to assist the digestive system. For Oxes (1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997) 2007 will be slightly better than 2006. The effects of negative gossip or an ongoing lawsuit will begin to fade. |
