Feng ShuiFeng Shui -What is it? Feng Shui is not only used to choose locations for domestic houses or business, but also to select sites for capital cities, towns and villages. This is called Yang Feng Shui. There is also method of choosing a good place to build a grave for the ancestors. This is called Yin Feng Shui. For Yin Feng Shui burial graves, there are a few styles. This is typical one is from the Southern China. It was built in 1700. More than three hundred years old. And now due to this grave, the offspring numbers are above 100,000. The effect of that is the Birth-water (Birth energy) flowing through in front of the grave. (The Birth-water technique can be implemented in Yang Feng Shui as well to speed up fertility.) In 1972 year, In China, when I was a young boy, my great grand father’s grave was moved to a better Feng Shui place for burial. It was at that time when things weren’t so open as now. The ceremony was performed at mid-night due to date-selection. My brother was born in 1974. He is now a chief inspector in the Hong Kong Police Force. This is just one of the examples make me devoted to Feng Shui. The central concept of Feng Shui is "Chi" (Cantonese’s pronunciation) or "Qi" (Mandarin pronunciation). The most simple translation into English is “Energy”. While Chi is invisible, it can embody matter or forms (as in the formula E = MC2). Energy and Matter is interchangeable in much the same way as ice and steam are. Chi the Feng Shui Energy is classified into five types: Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth. Collectively they are called "Wu Xing" or the Five Elements or Five Transformations. Feng Shui studies “Chi” in relation to a location. Good "Chi" will bring good things to the house such as wealth, health, fame and fortune. On the other hand, bad Chi brings misfortune, illness and even miscarriage. Chi is also influenced by time and can change yearly, monthly, daily and even hourly. Bad forms or matter will never produce good "Chi." There are so many Feng Shui schools. Each school has its strength and weakness. The followings are various Feng Shui schools. The Forms Feng Shui School is talking about the surrounding forms of a building, a house or a burial grave. The site is analyzed according to the location of the "Four Celestial Animals". In Feng Shui, we call these animals the “Red Bird or Red Phoenix”, the “Black Tortoise”, the “Green Dragon” and the “White Tiger”. The names of these “Four Celestial Animals” come from the Taoism. Each animal has its own color. Do you know why? Why they are called such names? Of course there are reasons. Most people do not know it why. It is very difficult to explain them in a few words. You need a lot of Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui knowledge to understand. I am better not confusing you right now. When a building or a burial grave is located within this perfect arrangement and provided that the correct facing is calculated, then precious energy is created and can attract good fortune for the occupants or good energy can be passed to the offspring. A typical burial grave’s “Four Celestial Animals” is like this. Form the diagram, an ideal Yin Feng Shui site; you can consider the following Feng Shui features: 1, 2 is the "Black Tortoise" 3 is the burial point (Dragon Den), 4, 5 is the "Red Bird or Red Phoenix", or "Bright Halls" 6 is the "White Tiger" 7 is the "Green Dragon" 8, “On” – Long Table or Cashier table. 9, Water Mouth Mountain 10, “Law Shing” or “Surrounding Mountain” 11. Pilgrimage Mountain You need all the above features to make a perfect Burial Grave or Feng Shui Dragon Den. The Yang Feng Shui for a building or a house borrows the concept of the “Four Celestial Animals” from Yin Feng Shui. The "Red Bird or Red Phoenix" is the area located at the front of a building or house. In fact I prefer to use the term “Bright Hall”. It should be a flat, open space. Always ensure that this area should bright and neat. The "Green Dragon" is located to the left of a building or a house, as you stand against it and face outward. The “Green Dragon” provides you with Yang Energy which gives you helping hand from external and good health. The "White Tiger" is located to the opposite side to the Green Dragon. It is at the right hand side of a building or a house, if you stand against it then face outward. If the “White Tiger” is too strong, it will bring Yin Energy to the house which will give ill-health. The female of the house will be stronger and more powerful. The "Black Tortoise" is located at the rear of a building or a house. It symbolizes a tower of strength behind you, supporting you and protecting you. Most people understand the "Four Celestial Animals" and its position but how to utilize them? I believe that not many people know. Let say, after you moving into a house, the surrounding forms are already existed and they are fixed; unless you neighbors build a double storey house to make the “Green Dragon” or “White Tiger” side higher. But how often do your neighbors re-build? If there is no rebuild, how to fine-tune these "Four Celestial Animals"? What kind of techniques we should employ? Well here is some Feng Shui Tips for you. For the "Red Bird or Red Phoenix", I call it “Bright Hall”. Never build any big object in the middle of the “Bright Hall”. If so, it is called “Sickness Mountain”. I have an article talk about the effect of the “Sickness Mountain”. You can go to Articles and read about it. Sometimes, after the house was built, the land forms and the surrounding were not so ideal, and then some Feng Shui techniques can be implementing to improve the Energy flows. For outside animal such as Lions are for protection. Especially there is a poison Arrow “Sha”(bad energy) point to the house.
There are a few styles of Lions. The Female Lion is holding a lion calf. The Male lion is holding a Ball. They are special meanings for them. For example, this house in
In Feng Shui, there are very often mentioned of “Sha” Chi (bad energy) is the Poison Arrow Sha. Most Feng Shui Consultants said that Poison Arrow Shas are bad. Poison Arrow Sha is a straight road shooting to a building or a house. However the Poison Arrow Sha sometimes can be good. There are certain businesses can use Poison Arrow Sha to improve their business. Here is one example. Look at the following picture. Yes, the building in front is the Red Cross Building. The road is hitting to the building. The fact is going to donate blood at this centre. You need to make appointment 3 to 4 weeks in advance. Think about it and you will understand why I said this is a good Poison Arrow. Here is a Bad Poison Arrow. The property is for lease. Under the Eight House School of Feng Shui theory, all houses are divided into eight types, two groups, the East and the West Group based on the eight trigrams from the Later Heaven Trigram. Each trigram represents a direction in the compass, we have eight directions (45 degree per direction) and we get eight types of houses by the sittings. For the occupants too are also divided into two groups, the East Group and the West Group. And according to the Eight House Feng Shui School, the East Group people should live in the East Group houses. The West Group people should live in the West group houses. Number 5 has not Trigram assigned to it. The way to find out a person’s Trigram nubmer or Feng Shui Gua number is easy. Just remember this formula. For gentleman, (100 – XX) / 9 take the remainder. For lady ( XX – 4) / 9 take the remainder. XX is the year’s last 2 digits between 1901 and 2000 and is the year of the person was born. Don’t forget that XX needs to calculate according to the 24 Solar Terms. Please note: If the remainder is 0, use 9 as the Feng Shui Gua number. If the remainder is 5, for male, use 2 Kun Trigram. For female use 8 Ken Trigram. For A gentleman was born in 1967. His Feng Shui Gua number is calculated as the followings: Birth year 1967, we only use the last 2 digits which is 67. (100 – 67) / 9 = 3...Remainder is 6. So any gentleman born in 1967, his Feng Shui Gua number is 6 Qian Trigram. He is a West Group Person. For lady, to calculate the Feng Shui Gua number, again use 1967, the last 2 digits is 67. (67 – 4)/9 = 7…remainder is 0. For 0, the number 9 is used. So any lady born in 1967, her Feng Shui Gua number is 9 Li Trigram. She is a East Group person. To work out the East or West Group of a house is complicated. As far as I know, there are at least three different ways to find out a house which groups it belongs to. And it is very confusing for the beginners. The most common method is using the sitting of the house to identify which group the house is. The East Group The West Group For East Group houses, the good areas inside the house are, East, South, North & Southeast. For West Group houses, the good areas inside the house are, West, Northwest, Southwest & Northeast. Most Feng Shui consultants said that the Eight House School of Feng Shui is too simple. The Eight House School of Feng Shui does not include the time factor into it. Well, in my opioion, TIME can be included into any system of Feng Shui. It depends on how indepth knowledge you have learnt about a particular Feng Shui theory. Flying Star Feng Shui SchoolFlying Star Feng Shui School is also known as Xuan Kong or Three Periods Nine Ages Feng Shui School. The First Period is for Ages 1,2,3. The Second Period is for Ages 4,5,6. The Third Perid is for Ages 7,8,9. Each age controls 20 years of luck. We are now at the Age 8. This period is from the year 2004 to 2023. For Flying Star Feng Shui School, the year of your house was built is very important. An accurate compass degree reading of the facing of your house is vital too. The most difficult area for the Flying Star Feng Shui School to practise well is to find out the CORRECT facing direction of the house. A floorplan drawn to scale also plays important part. Find the centre of the house and divide it into eight compass directions. By using the compass degree reading and the building completion date of your house, Flying Star Feng Shui School Consultants able to draw up a Flying Star chart for the house. This is a Flying Star Feng Shui chart for a house facing North and built during age 7.
From the Flying Star Feng Shui chart, combines with the Forms Feng Shui School, look at the forms outside of your house and the forms inside your house. Flying Star Feng Shui consultants can tell many things about the house and its occupants. TopSan He (Triple Harmony) Feng Shui School San He (Triple Harmony) Feng Shui School, there are lots of misunderstandings about this Feng Shui School. The San He (Triple Harmony) Feng Shui has a very long history background.
The 12 Earthly Branches form 4 triple harmony combines or groups. They are the fire combine (Tiger, Horse, Dog); the water combine (Monkey, Rat, Dragon); the wood combine (Pig, Rabbit, Goat) and the metal combine (Snake, Rooster, Ox). Most Feng Shui Masters mistakenly think that these 4 Triple Harmony groups are the San He (Triple Harmony) Feng Shui School. Well, the Earthly Branches Triple Harmony combines have some relation to the San He Feng Shui School. The 4 Earthly Branches combines are for calculating the auspicious and the inauspicious areas. However the actual meaning of the Triple Harmony Feng Shui School is: the Mountain Dragon, the Facing and the Water Dragon, these three most important elements must be in harmony. In Tian Yu Jin, it says:
“The Mountain Dragon must harmonize with the Facing and the Facing must harmonize with the water. Water harmonizes with the three auspicious areas.”
This is the real meaning of San He Feng Shui School.
Nowadays, most Feng Shui Masters study only the Flying Star Feng Shui School. Only a small number of people still study the Triple Harmony Feng Shui.
I personally audited a number of Yin Feng Shui burial sites. All those sites have long history and they were all in line with the San He (Triple Harmony) Feng Shui School’s theory.
Top Four The Four Pillars Feng Shui School is using the Four Pillars of a person and the house’s facing and the internal Feng Shui sectors. By working out the favorable and unfavorable elements for the person, then the favorable element sectors are to be activated using Feng Shui rules. For the unfavorable element sectors, on the other hand, it is to be cured. This method is different from using the Ming Gua.
For example, if a person uses Fire as one of his favorable elments, then he should choose a South faceing house to live or when he sleeps his head should point to the South direction. By doing so, he is catching the favorable Qi for his Natal Chart.
This Four Pillar Feng Shui method is very sophisticated. You need to know Four Pillars of Chinese Astrology and Feng Shui at the same time.
After I arrived the client’s place, before any Feng Shui Consultations, I will read the 4 Pillars Charts of the owners. As a result, it gives me a complete picture to the suitation.
I have done a consult lately. I read the 4 pillars charts of the owners and measure the facing direction of the house. I then looked at the surroundings. Ha..ha.. I know what is happening there.
