What is Zi Wei Dou Shu

Zi Wei Dou Shu is another ancient Chinese Astrology. Like the BaZi, it is a fortune telling methodology. It is believed that the Ziweidoushu was first practised in the Sung Dynasty which means it has over a thousand years history.

Zi Wei Dou Shu uses a Ziwei chart which is formed by placing "symbols" (or stars) into the 12 different "houses" according to one's birth time (year, month, day and hour).

From the chart, the Ziweidoushu practitioner is able to analyze the trend of a persons life and, best of all, is able to predict what would be the outcome of a particular issue in much the same way as economists use graphs and charts to predict economic cycles.

It sounds mysterious, but the theory is based on the statistical analysis of lots of data collected over many years and many generations.

Ziwei Dou Shu methodology is composed of the analysis of over a hundred "stars". There are 115 Stars to be exact.

A Typical Zi Wei Dou Shu Chart:

Ziweidoushu "Stars" are Symbols. They are not the real stars in the sky. Ziwei Dou Shu simply borrows the names of those stars.

The 12 Houses are:

Life

Siblings (Brothers and Sisters)

Spouse

Children

Money

Health

Travelling

Friends

Career

Property

Happiness

Parents

The Four Pillars of Destiny and Ziwei Dou Shu are two separate fortune telling systems. They are the two most commonly used by Chinese Astrologers worldwide.

The two systems both have strengths and weakness in different areas. The Four Pillar of Destiny is more focused on the Five Elements while the Ziwei Dou Shu is more focused on the characteristics of the "Stars".

For my Chinese Astrology reading for clients, I always combine the two systems, the Four Pillars of Destiny and Zi Wei Dou Shu together. I found that the accuracy is much higher.
